Movie
Yesterday we went to see a movie....all six of us. We went to see "Horton hears a Who!" I really liked it, it was really cute and it had a lot of humor, and that is always good. Todd fell asleep about two minutes into it, he wanted to see it but we all just stayed up way too late the night before. Elena was interested for a little while but then she started getting bored and of course started to fuss, so then Todd grabbed her and took her out he didn't mind since he had already missed half of the movie anyway. During the middle of the movie the projector (or whatever it is called) gave out which was totally weird, I have never been to a movie and have that happen so it took a little while to get it going again. We all enjoyed the movie and even Christopher, he didn't want to see it because he thought it was too kiddie for him. Todd will have to see it another time I guess, maybe when it comes out at RedBox.

The weekends when we are all together are pretty interesting. For me, it makes for a hectic and emotional time. Having the 3 older kids come is a dream come true. They stride through the door, eager to get doing whatever it is they're going to do first. I have high expectations of myself...subconsciously I want it to be perfect. -Each of the 4 children will get their fill of doing what they most like doing. Everyone will get as much personal time with Dad as they'd like, and nobody will ever get bored or feel left out. It doesn't work. I think this subconscious desire comes from not being together nearly as much as I'd like. We have to somehow cram 2 weeks of living into a weekend(which includes trying not to spend 2 weeks' worth of money.) I'm slowly learning to make the most of the time but not stress too much...get all of the logistical stuff (like meals) done, yet savor each magical moment and let nothing beautiful or meaningful slip by unnoticed.
All-in-all it was a successful weekend. I played X-box with Critter, colored eggs and played at the park with the girls, and went to a movie with everyone. -And icing on the cake...nobody cried when the kids went home. Not even Dad. :)
I think that you are an incredible dad to those sweet kids of yours. Don't we all wish that life was a bowl of gum drops and ice cream. It sounds like you had a great weekend with the kids. I don't know how you do it. It would rip my heart out evertime they had to leave.
Oh... Todd is such a cute Dad!!! You guys are great parents... and i'm sure it will get easier as time goes on!
