100 things about me

I got this from my friend Katie's blog....I know, I keep copying here but she is a blog stalker and well I guess I stalk hers. :) It is supposed to be 121 but whatever.



1. My name is spelled with "y" because when my parents first came to the U.S my mom would watch Wonder Woman with my sister and she liked the spelling of Lynda as in Lynda Carter. So I tell everyone I am Wonder Woman.



2. My siblings and I speak English to our parents and they speak Spanish to us. That is just how we grew up....my parents figured if we learned English then they would learn from us. They didn't know that later in life it would be hard for us to speak Spanish.



3. I had some few nicknames growing up: patito (baby duck) because I was so fat as a baby that I would waddle when I walked. I was also called panda....that one is easy. My dad would always call me kika and he still calls me that to this day. I don't know why though and he doesn't either.



4. I was born in Utah and I have lived here all my life.



5. I can play all kinds of sports but I'm no great athlete.



6. I can throw a football and a baseball like you wouldn't believe. (at least I WAS able to I don't know about now).



7. I love to dance! Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Banda, Bachata.....even Country Line Dancing. Nothing professional though.



8. I hate when people assume I don't speak English.



9. I hate when people assume I don't speak Spanish.



10. I can't stand it when people make comments about another race, color or ethnicity. If it is not about your own don't say it!



11. I am great with memorizing numbers....just don't ask me to divide, multiply, subtract or add any.



12. I hate math.



13. I am the shortest cousin on my mom's side of the family. The tallest is about 6' 4" and I am 5' 2".



14. I have burn scars on my right hand and wrist.



15. I have a bad shoulder from a car accident I had almost 10 years ago. The person next to didn't have his seat belt on and he landed on me when we crashed. He was about 165lbs we were going about 35 or so. 165 x 35 = 5,775lbs of force!



16. I have all of my wisdom teeth and they fit perfectly.



17. I am a lefty.



18. My best friend growing up was Spring she introduced me to junk food.



19. My family and I went to Mexico almost ever year since I was 9. I haven't been there in the last 4 year.



20. We were poor growing up but I didn't know it. We were happy...



21. I never played with Barbie's as a kid just toy cars. If for some reason we had some Barbies my sister and I would cut their hair off and run them over with our toy cars.



22. My dad always bought us baby dolls and strollers. The dolls came with the "disappearing" milk and OJ. I loved them!



23. My sister once told me that the candy in the candy bins were free. I always grabbed some.



24. I saw Snow White for the first time when I was 15. I vowed never to see it again because I couldn't stand her singing voice.



25. I watched Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella for the first time when I was 17.



26. I have never seen Peter Pan or The Jungle Book.



27. When I was a kid I thought it was great any time we had a TV dinner I thought it was a real treat. What was I thinking?!



28. My siblings and I always gave each other a Charlie Horse either in the leg or the arm....it was fun. When my bro got older it was hard to hurt him with just our fists so we would use the heels of our feet right on his thighs!



29. My brother and I always had "fist" fights. We would wear those little one size fits all gloves and tap each other.



30. I once accidentally sucker punched my bro right in the face while we were playing and he fell straight back. We had a good laugh...



31. My brother once sucker punched me straight in the face while we were playing. I just lost my balance a little bit. Again, we had a good laugh...



32. My brother and I would get in trouble for fighting all the time (real fighting) and we would get hit with a belt. I would say to my brother "why are you crying? It doesn't even hurt." I guess I got used to it.



33. I called my dad stupid once when I was a kid.....I never did that again.



34. I broke my wrist while playing on the monkey bars at school. A girl was pulling my legs and I fell, the first time no big deal. The second, well....that's when it broke. She looked like an Albino monkey! I can say that because she broke my wrist!



35. I had to learn to use my right hand after I broke good ol' lefty.



36. When I was in Mesquite some old guy bought me a beer and he was with his daughter. It was weird but I didn't care, I got a free beer!



37. One day I was driving along on the freeway and some guy pulled up next to me and wanted to race. I was in a 4 cylinder Camry and he was in a Camaro....



38. I used to yell at people all the time if they were doing something stupid. My sister would get embarrassed and my mom would think it was funny.



39. I got the Chicken Pox when I was 21.



40. When I was a teenager I wanted to get in a fight just to see how much I could take and how much I could give.



41. I have always wanted to take boxing lessons.



42. My brother and I used to go to work with my dad at the dairy farm. Sometimes he would take us to McDonald's and get us some cheese burgers after work. We thought it was so great! It was!



43. My dad is the nicest guy in the world and he would do anything for anyone.



44. My mom will tell it to you how it is....so don't piss her off. That is where I get it...



45. There are 5 people in this world who I would love to just straight Knock Out. I could do it too!



46. I have only been pulled over by a cop once. My friend in High School had a Super Soaker and shot it out the window after I specifically told her not to while we were on main roads. It was the end of the school year...no ticket just confiscation of the Super Soaker.



47. I use to excercise...



48. I was a real gamer I could play any video game on any system and be good at it. I have played Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, DS, Sega, Play Station 2, X-box, X-box 360. I'm only ok now.



49. My brother would say "Lynda is my favorite sister because she plays Nintendo." My sister played too but not as much.



50. I scared my brother one time by telling him not to get too close to the drain in the tub because a hand might reach out and grab him. I scared him so bad that I scared myself and I would stay away from the drain too.



51. I learned to read Spanish all by myself at the age of 9.



52. I correct my parent's Spanish spelling all the time.



53. I stabbed my sister with a pencil.



54. I was such an ugly child that my mom would introduce my sister and I like this: (Happily)This is my daughter Flor! (disappointed) "Oh....and this is my OTHER daughter Lynda. She really didn't but I joke around that she did.



55. I was baptized as a Catholic. (Not my choice)



56. My mom overheard my "Godmother" tell someone that she wished my sister was her Goddaughter because I was ugly. Wench! She broke my mom's heart.



57. I haven't seen my "Godmother" since I was like 8.



58. Todd was my first everything.



59. I have needed corrective lenses since I was 7.



60. I have been wearing Gas Permeable (hard) contact lenses since I was 15.



61. I have stretch marks.....mostly on my belly.



62. I can't stand it when chicks with blonde hair, blonde eyebrows and blonde eyelashes wear BLACK mascara!

63. I am first generation American.

64. I gained 33lbs total while I was pregnant.

65. I was in the "awkward stage" from age 4 to about 14. (I think so anyway)

66. I can remember things clear back when I was 2 years old. Just small details...

67. I always watched horror movies when I was a little kid and I hated the dark for the longest time. I was afraid of everything!

68. I don't watch horror movies anymore! I haven't for many many years.

69. I got a rose one day in High School from this guy who was sort of my friend. He was ok sometimes but most of the time I couldn't stand him. I told everyone in my family that I didn't know who I got the rose from....so if they read this now they will know who I am talking about.

70. when I was a little girl I had really thin hair and for some reason my mom got the idea that tomato and olive oil treatments would do the trick.

71. I have thick hair.

72. I have an obsession with even numbers. The only odd numbers I like are any number with 5, the numbers 7 and 13. I have gotten better with it though.

73. I use to count the steps I took until I had to cross a crack, then I would start counting again until I reached another crack. I also counted stairs.

74. I have Hypothyroidism.

75. I shaved a part of my eyebrow once when I was about 10, I was trying to get rid of my unibrow.

76. I was almost in a drive by shooting once....it was a good thing we used to play "driveby".

77. One of my second cousins was murdered in the SLC area. She was only 5. They never found the murderer.

78. I only went to one school dance in High School. It was MORP.

79. I never once stepped into the lunch room in High School.

80. I love to watch Jackie Chan movies!

81. I love to watch ridiculous movies!

82. I am a big fan of Selena! Everyone loved her.....

83. I watched the Soap Opera "Passions" because it had a lot of hot guys in it. I would sometimes go home for lunch just to see it. The story line was so dumb!

84. My all time favorite dude since I was like 12 years old is Antonio Sabato Jr. He is still hot!

85. My favorite new actor out there is Shia LaBeouf. I think he is cute!

86. I am a big fan of Spiderman, and X-men. Not many girls out there are...

87. I don't know how to do cute hairstyles. I can barely do a ponytail let alone do a French Braid!

88. I have only dyed my hair twice.

89. I almost always have a sweater handy I get cold easily.

90. I have a habit of cracking my knuckles....I've been doing it since I was 9.

91. Once when I was about 7 or 8 I was laying on a picnic table and it split open. I fell straight on my back on the cement ground and my spine was bloody from top to bottom.

92. I have hit myself on a bike twice! Man that hurts!!

93. I hit into a tether pole while riding my bike. I was looking away and SMACK!

94. I don't like to drive at night.

95. I love watching videos when people fall as long as they don't get hurt.

96. People always ask me if I am Asian or Native American. Once someone asked if I was Hawaiian.....you know who you are!

97. Elena was the first new born I ever held.

98. When my mom was pregnant with my brother she had me feel her stomach while he was kicking. I put my hand on her belly and I didn't feel anything, then suddenly a big kick! I got startled and these people were at our house and they started to laugh.....I laughed too but soon I started crying because they were laughing at me. I was like 4! I never touched a pregnant belly again after that, just my own.

99. I loved being pregnant I felt the best ever in my life! (just aches here and there)

100. Last but not least....I went to jail when I was 2 years old. Yes, you read that right!
