Just a Little Something

Well a few things to write about...yesterday I was sick with some stinkin' virus that made me so sick and the worst part is that I had the same thing a few weeks ago! The only good thing about it is that it only lasts about a day. The days after that I just take slowly meaning I can't eat everything I want to eat. Sunday we were at my father in-law's for a BBQ and the kids were playing around with their cousins. Ellie was having a fun time picking flowers but she didn't know that later on it would cause an allergic reaction. On our way to Layton she had rubbed her eyes and a little bit later she was crying and saying that her eyes hurt and that they itched a lot. I had a bottle of water and Shannon had a bandanna she used it to pat her eyes....it helped and soon Ellie fell asleep. Everything was quiet as we were driving along when Shannon says "daddy, Ellie's eye is all swollen." I immediately turned my head around to take a look and sure enough her poor little eye was all swollen as if someone had hit her (the other eye was swollen too but not as much). We all felt so bad! When she woke up she was crying not because her eye hurt but because she didn't want to leave. She did say that it was starting to itch again but we just had to keep reminded her not to rub it. We gave her some Benadryl (sp?) and by the time she got home she was doing better. It really sucks to have allergies! All Ellie wanted to do was pick some flowers for her daddy.

Memorial Weekend

We had a pretty good weekend even though the weather wasn't so great we still tried to make the most of it. Friday night while Elena was having fun hanging out with my parents, Todd and I went to see "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Cystal Skull". I really like the movie although I must say the ending was a little strange I would still see it a millions times.

Saturday we hung out for a bit at home then we headed out to Sandy to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. We had a good time and Elena enjoyed everything as well. She got a little frightened by a toad but that was because it was just sitting there and it didn't even look real but then it made a sudden move and she just didn't like that very much.

After the aquarium fun we went to dinner at TGIFriday's we had a very good meal and Elena was dancing in her high chair to the music playing. We also went to the store to buy one of those inflatable pools so Elena can splash around in it outside. It has Sponge Bob on it and I hope she has fun.

Sunday we just hung out at home again then later on we went to the pond in Springville and fed the ducks. Elena fell asleep on the way there so just Todd got out to feed them.

After a little while Elena woke up and she was so excited to see the ducks and the geese! Then suddenly out of nowhere the babies appeared and I was so excited. Elena just loved it!!

Monday we didn't do anything except go to JC Penney to buy some towels that were on sale. I had fun with that, I don't know about Todd and Elena though.

Some of Elena

I haven't been posting as often as I would like. It just seems like I never have any time....maybe I just don't make any. I thought I would post a little about Elena and what she has been up to. To start, Monday morning she had a fever that lasted throughout the day. We already had her well baby appointment so it was sort of good timing...the doc checked her out and saw that her throat looked irritated. It wasn't strep because she had just finished up some antibiotics for an ear infection, so he said she had a virus (so we really can't do anything about that). She was trying to play that day but she just didn't have the energy. She mostly wanted to hang out with me and sit on my lap. Dora was on TV so she decided she wanted me to read her Dora book to her but not just once, of course, but about 3 times that day. Tuesday she did much better having only one fever although she was still very tired and very, very grumpy. She was even throwing fits and screaming. I hope it isn't going to be a usual thing but I must say this morning she was up to her grumpiness. I am happy that she is feeling much better! Our baby girl is now 15 months old and she is learning so much! She says hello, hola, mama, papa, tata (short for grandpa in Spanish), nana (short for grandma in Spanish), wow wow (for dog) uh oh, tia (for tortilla) she can sort of say leche (milk), agua (water) and of course she can say no. She pretty much eats everything. The only things she doesn't really like are tuna and lettuce. Other than that she is our little piglet. Here are some pictures of Elena just being a silly little girl.

Here Elena was doing some artwork with her "Pip-squeak" markers but then decided she wanted to smell them then rub her face with the marker in her hand.

Here Elena thought it would be hilarious to hide under the blanket then hurry to take it off to scare everyone. So cute! She was having so much fun with that hideous thing.

Working out

Tuesday I went over to my parent's house and worked out with my sister. She has a work out video called "The Firm" (I think), it is pretty cool and you can use weights if you want to. It is a full hour work out but it doesn't feel like it because it is non stop, it kind of kicked my butt, I really did well considering I haven't worked out in a long, long time. I guess the reason I did so well is because I lift and carry 25 lbs everyday! Hopefully I will keep a routine with the work out so that I can get into shape and be fit so then I can run around chasing Elena everywhere without nearly having a heart attack.
